Oak Creek Man Loses Control Of His Truck, Arrested for Drunk Driving

Man had to be extricated out of his truck.

A man had to be extricated from his car after he was involved in a one-car crash at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 on County Highway V at Seven Mile Road.

Joseph Dorcey, 79, of Oak Creek, was arrested for drunk driving and failing to maintain control of his car, according to a report by the .

Dorcey was driving a red SUV northbound on Highway V when it went into a ditch, then went across the road into the west shoulder and into a grassy area. Dorcey then “over corrected and flipped the vehicle on its side,” according to Officer David Rewolinski.

Personnel from the Caledonia Fire Department responded and had to cut Dorcey out of the vehicle because his legs were pinned underneath the dashboard and the steering wheel.

Two bottles of vodka were found inside the vehicle. One was open and half gone. The other was unopened.

At the hospital, Dorcey later told police that the bottles were from an event in Iowa and he wasn’t drinking from them that night. He also said the bearings on his wheel went bad and he lost control of the SUV.  Dorcey’s blood-alcohol content was .20, which is well over two times the legal limit of .08.
