Update: Olympia Brown Back to Normal After Fight in Parking Lot

Police have a sole suspect in custody and consider the matter closed.

Racine Unified is confirming that Olympia Brown Elementary School was locked down Thursday morning after a fight took place in the parking lot.

Stacy Tapp told Patch that two adults were fighting in the parking lot at Erie Street at about 8:20 a.m. The school was locked down for about 30 minutes and did not involve or endanger any students.

Principal Joan Kuehl sent out an automated message to parents making them aware of the situation and that an after-school basketball game was canceled.

Caledonia police Lt. Gary Larsen confirmed a 37-year-old Caledonia man is in custody. He was arrested on misdemeanor counts of battery and trespassing.

The fight was over a woman, Larsen said. No one was transported to the hospital, but another 37-year-old man is considered the victim because the man in custody instigated the fight.

He is not being sought, and police are not investigating further.
