Update: Accident Victim Suffers Head Injury after Rollover on I-94

One person was hospitalized after they rolled their car on Interstate 94, which was shut down for almost an hour Sunday night.

Patch has learned the female victim taken to Froedtert Hospital Sunday after a rollover crash on I-94 just after 5 p.m. is suffering from a head injury. 

A family member Sunday night confirmed their relative suffered a head injury from the crash, but could not provide a prognosis or details about her condition.

The crash happened on I-94 near the Highway K bridge. Deputies with the Racine County Sheriff's Department shut down all three lanes of traffic on Interstate 94 going eastbound just south of Highway K and then allowed the cars to get back on the Interstate at the Highway E ramp.

Karen Jensen, a Racine woman who was stuck in the traffic jam, said at 5:50 p.m. that they had been stuck in traffic for over 45 minutes.

"We've seen four cars so far go into reverse and get off the highway," she said. "We've seen people pull out of traffic and turn around, some even doing a Chinese fire drill."

By 6:05  p.m., all three lanes of traffic were opened.
