According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Lopez leaned out the window and gave Sgt. Robert Mueller the middle finger while Mueller was waiting for the traffic light to change. Because the Lopez wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, Mueller initiated a traffic stop. Dispatch operators reported that Lopez was on probation and he wasn’t supposed to be drinking as a condition of his probation, this resulted in Lopez’s arrest.

His blood-alcohol content was .283. While police were taking Lopez to the Racine County Jail, he asked why he was going to jail because he was respectful to law enforcement. But Mueller asked if giving the “finger” was respectful?
