On Oct. 28, Caledonia police officers were investigating a fight at a residence in the 6000 block of Highway 31. Officers went to the home where they found Povkovich and two females inside, who gave consent to enter the home.

While the officer was talking to Povkovich, a 16-year-old came out of a room and when the officer asked if there was anyone else inside, Povkovich said he didn't know. The officer decided to do a sweep of the home, and Povkovich told the officer he could search him.
