Police Say Suspects May Be Responsible for Caledonia Home Invasions

While no formal charges have been issued, the Caledonia Police believe the two juveniles apprehended yesterday in Mount Pleasant may have also been involved in several home invasions in Caledonia. And they are still looking for a third person.

Additional charges may be on the way for two juvenile boys who may have been involved in a series of home invasions in Caledonia that happened between April 18 and April 23, according to an article in the Journal Times.

Sgt. Brian Wall, of the Caledonia Police Department, told the Journal Times their investigation has lead them to inteview several people "in and out of custody" and the "incidents might be linked."

Two of the three boys were appreheded in Mount Pleasant after a multi-jurisdictional chase.

Officers from Mount Pleasant responded at 5:23 pm Monday to calls of suspicious persons. Specifically, there were three teenage boys on the porch of a home in the 2400 block of Green Haze who were also looking into the backyard and garage of another residence.

When police arrived, the suspects were gone, but a second call to dispatch had them sited at the intersection of Highways 38 and 31. All three suspects fled on foot, going east, when officers arrived. One suspect was apprehended near the intersection of Highway 38 and MM at the Root River.

Squads from Caledonia and the Racine Police K-9 unit also responded, chasing a second suspect north along the river. He was eventually located in a garage in the neighborhood near the intersection of Highway 31 and Johnson.

Mount Pleasant Police Sargeant David Stroupe said while officers were engaged in the chase, dispatch received a call from a homeowner in the 2800 block of Donegal Road reporting a break-in and burglary to their home.

A third suspect is also being sought.
