Prescription Meds And Driving Don't Mix, Even If You Are 85-Years-Old

21-year-old man arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence of controlled substances offered up his take on the chances of 85-year-old ladies being caught.

A man driving a Kia smashed into a pole and road signs at 4:42 a.m. Thursday on Highway 38 at Emmertsen Road.

According to a report by the , Joseph Ledonne III, 21, of Kenosha, was arrested for failing to keep his vehicle under control, non-registration of automobile, operating without insurance, operating left of center and driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.

A witness told police Ledonne was driving his car northbound on Emmertsen when the car “crossed the center line, drove into a yard and struck a utility pole.” Ledonne told police he had fallen asleep, but police noticed that he slurred his speech and was speaking slowly.

Police arrested Ledonne and took him into custody. While in the police car, Ledonne fell asleep and had to be woken up. When police questioned him, he told them: “There are 85-year-old ladies who get in crashes all the time after using prescription drugs and they never get arrested.”

Ledonne was taken to the Racine County Jail on a probation hold.
