Sturtevant Fist Fight Leads to Caledonia Road Rage Incident

Police expect to charge those involved.

A man suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was the victim of a road rage incident at 1:55 a.m. Sunday on Northwestern Avenue at County Trunk Highway H.

But the rage might have been mutual and really a continuation from a fight that had happened prior to the incident.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, a 21-year-old Racine man told police he went to a dance with his girlfriend and he saw his old girlfriend with his cousin, so he left the dance because he knew there would be trouble if he stayed.

While driving home an orange Chevrolet Tahoe came up behind the car the 21-year-old man was driving and pushed him north on Highway H all the way to Highway K.  While going through the intersection, the man’s car left the highway and rolled over.

The woman driving the Tahoe told police she was punched by a woman at the dance, and her husband fought with another man. The two groups were asked to leave and they left the Sports Complex in Sturtevant in separate vehicles. However, the car followed them and passed them at the intersection of H and Spring Street. The woman told police the car slammed on the brakes and the truck struck the car, but the car kept the brake on and she could not move forward. She said she didn’t see the car go into the ditch or flip over because she was too busy trying to get away from them.
