Truck Doing Burnouts Damages Lawn at Caddy Vista

Police say this guy thought it would be fun to do burnouts in the lawn at Caddy Vista.

Police say a Cudahy man was issued a citation for criminal damage to property Friday after he performed burnouts on the lawn of Caddy Vista School.

CAPD officers responded to a call at 5:03 p.m. for a vandalism to property complaint by someone doing burnouts in the grass at the school, 10010 Duane Court. Dispatch advised that a witness described the suspect vehicle as a blue, black and white truck.

When police arrived, they found deep tire marks in the grass but no other damage. A man told officers he saw the vehicle leave the area and park on Saratoga Drive, according to police reports.

Officers located the truck and when the owner spoke with police, he said he’d been following a family member in a go cart. Police checked the owner’s truck and found large amounts of grass on the rear tires. They say they advised him of his options, depending on how Racine Unified wanted to proceed; he could fix the damage he inflicted or he could take a municipal citation.

The man said he would take the citation because he lives in Cudahy and works second shift. District officials were advised of the situation and said they would visit the school to more fully assess the damage.
