A man found sleeping in the shoulder of the road woke up to a police officer standing over him at 5:01 a.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of Douglas Ave.
But that didn't stop his morning routine.
The 32-year-old Caledonia man was cited for urinating in public.
A witness told police he was headed to a nearby restaurant when he saw Ramczyk laying in a gutter sleeping, and smelling like alcohol, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department.
An officer tried to wake up the man, but he was slow to respond and when he woke up he decided he needed to use the bathroom. The officer told him not to urinate in full view of traffic. So he turned and urinated on the guardrail instead, but he was still in full view of traffic.
Rescue personnel from the Caledonia Fire Department came to the scene, but the man refused medical treatment. The officer then took the man home and he went to bed.
