Wind Point Man Chases Away Burglar

Wind Point - A homeowner scared off a possible burglar from his home at 4:04 p.m. Nov. 10 in the 5300 block of Hunt Club Road.

Officials with the Village of Wind Point had asked for mutual aid from the .

The suspect rang the doorbell to the home, but when the homeowner looked outside he only saw a blue car parked in his driveway. Going to a side window, he saw a man wearing all black and a scarf covering his face on his front porch, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department.

The homeowner didn’t answer the front door, but then 15 minutes later he heard the doorbell ring again and saw the same person outside. The man had a backpack and he saw the suspicious man going into his backyard, kneel down next to a sliding glass door and begin to get tools out of his backpack.

Yelling at the burglar and asking him what he was doing, the suspect said, “Oh, I must be at the wrong house.”

The homeowner threatened to shoot the suspect and ran away.
