Wind Point Man Dead, One Person in Custody in Death Investigation

WIND POINT - Investigators with the Racine County Sheriff's Department are investigating a homicide that happened outside a home in the 5200 block of Valley Trail at about 2 a.m. Monday.

Investigators have not identified the homicide victim's name, but say they have a person of interest they are talking to at this time.

Law enforcement officials with the Wind Point Police, the Caledonia Police first responded to the call and investigators from the Racine County Sheriff's Department were still invstigating this morning. A number of homes and the street were blocked off with police tape.

Sgt. Brian Zimmerman, of the Racine County Sheriff's Department said they still had a long way to go in the investigation.

"At this point in time there's not a lot we can say," Zimmerman said. "We're doing a thorough investigation."

One neighbor, who wished not to be named, said the area is typically quiet.

"Nothing ever happens here," he said.
