Woman Accused of Stealing $20K in Goods From a Caledonia Home
Suspect told police she stole jewelry, sports memorabilia and other items so she could raise money to help her brother with his legal bills.
A 27-year-old Franksville woman is facing felony charges after she stole more than $20,000 in cash, jewelry and memorabilia from a Caledonia home so she could pay her brother’s legal bills.
Holly R. Bankenbush was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of felony theft of more than $10,000 in items. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

A Greenfield police officer investigating transactions at area pawn shops found Bankenbush had made six transactions since August at a store, selling items believed to be above her income level.
Bankenbush admitted stealing the items from her boyfriend’s parent’s home in the 12000 block of County Road G in order to pay for her brother’s legal bills. She also said she sold two Milwaukee Brewers jersey’s and Xbox gaming system at a West Allis pawn shop.

Police contacted the victims who said Bankenbush had lived at the home with them until October. They discovered $3,200 in cash was missing from the home along with several hundred jewelry items and memorabilia valued at $20,000.
She’s currently being held in Racine County Jail on $2,000 bail.
