Woman Charged for Threatening to Kill Man Who Failed to Pay Drug Debt

Michelle Warmington came back to the motel with a family member to collect, but Caledonia Police were waiting for her.

Caledonia Police arrested a woman Thursday morning after she allegedly threatened to kill a man because he didn’t pay for drugs.

The man told police he was "ex-military," but then said he would be going back into the service in four days.

Michelle Warmington, 32, of Racine, was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a telephone. In court Thursday, Mark Lukoff, court commissioner for the Racine County Circuit Court, set bail for $250.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Warmington repeatedly called a man saying he owed her money for drugs she sold him at the Country Inn Motel, 5829 Douglas Ave.

However, the 46-year-old Racine man told police Warmington stole $1,900 from him and described her as “a prostitute and a crack head” that started using again. The man said he went out for a run, but when he returned he found the money and Warmington missing. Police noted that the man had been drinking, wasn’t sweaty and was wearing pajamas. He said he knew Warmington was a prostitute and a drug user, but he had left her alone in the room anyway. He told police he knew “it was a dumb idea” to leave her alone in the room, but the woman was “an angel” when she wasn’t using.

The man told police Warmington said prior to having his money taken that he needed to pay his drug dealers or they would come after him. The man said he keeps a loaded Beretta in the room. Police told the man to not have contact with the woman and to call the police if the money returned.

About an hour and a half later, the man called the police saying the woman had threatened him over the phone several times and she was coming to the motel. Police responded back to the motel where they found Warmington in a car with a family member, who told police she had asked him to drive to the hotel because the man owed money to a drug dealer. The family member also confirmed that Warmington was using drugs again, but he didn’t know she had made threats to the man and he didn’t know the 47-year-old man.

Warmington told police she had been staying with the man for weeks and she was just “sleeping over.”
