Baby Formula Burglar Nabbed At Pick 'n Save

Woman says she just forgot her credit card.

A woman was arrested for stealing baby formula and striking a security officer at Pick ‘n Save, 5111 Douglas Ave on Friday, May 13.

According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, Connie Andresen, 35, of Racine, was arrested for retail theft, bail jumping and battery.

Andresen had $464 of baby formula and other items in a grocery cart at 7:39 p.m.  She acted like she was using the ATM machine and the tried to leave the store with the cart full of unpaid for items.

A witness told police the security officer tried to detain Andresen. When she began to struggle with him and slapped him across the face. Trying to escape, the security officer then physically detained her.

Andresen told police she had intended on paying for the items with a credit card. When she stopped at the ATM machine she realized she didn’t have it with her and remembered she needed to get her daughter and left the store with the cart of groceries.
