Caledonia Candidates Prepare for Spring Election

Three trustee seats and the village president seat are open for election April 2.

So far, only one Caledonia Village trustee race will be contested in the April elections.

Three trustee seats and the village president position are open for election April 2. Village Board President Ronald Coutts has filed for re-election.

Trustee position No. 1 is open, as Trustee Kathy Burton is not running for re-election. Ed Willing has filed candidacy papers for that position.

In trustee position No. 3, incumbent Kevin Wanggaard has filed for re-election. No one else has filed papers in that race.

Trustee Jim Dobbs, who is in trustee position No. 5, is also running for re-election. Richard Frazier has also filed papers as a candidate for that position.

Trustees serve two-year terms and are paid $6,600 per year. The village president is paid $13,000 per year.

The final day for filing nomination papers is Tuesday, Jan. 2, in the office of the Village Clerk.
