Caledonia Home Prices Drop Big Time, But More Are Buying

The number of foreclosure homes on the market have dropped, but the bottom line is: it's a great time to buy a house.

The average price of a home in Caledonia sold for about $180,000 last year, that's a decrease of over 20 percent since 2005.

Still, more people bought homes in 2011 compared to 2010 and realtors have seen less houses being put up for sale due to foreclosure, according to a story in the Racine Journal Times.

Lakes Area Realtor Association President Ryan Simons said a β€œ'shadow inventory,' or repossessed homes that have not yet been put on the market."
