Caledonia Shovels Out After Record Snow

Drifting snow smashed up against houses, buried our cars, and made roads impassable.

Over 100 cars were stopped in their tracks in Caledonia and Wind Point. Some of those drivers slept in their cars as the wind shaped five to ten-foot drifts that buried residents. Mother Nature manhandled heavy duty equipment meant to make light work of snowstorms and rendered them inoperable. Still, police, fire and highway personnel scrambled to help those in need. Winds continued to rip through the area. And with a concerted effort, people unburied their cars, driveways, and homes. Some broke free from the grip of winter while others remain.
