Caledonia resident Jennifer Petrick has known the Wyatt family for years.
And when she heard that a was being built to honor Daniel Wyatt, who was killed in Iraq in 2004, she decided to help raise money to help pay for it.
Last month, the Village Board approved a resolution to name the concession stand and the baseball diamond area the “Lance Corporal Daniel Wyatt Memorial Ball Diamond” at Crawford Park. The park is located at 5199 Chester Lane. A flagpole will also be erected and a plaque will be at the base of the flagpole.
Petrick is hosting a fundraiser where people can buy products from Wildtree Herbs from her and 20 percent of the proceeds will go to help pay for the memorial. But since Petrick knew Daniel, she’s also giving an additional 5 percent of her own profits to the cause, she said.
Wildtree Herbs is a home party sales business that sells different food items and seasonings with no dyes
“To me, this is important because it’s great that Caledonia is doing that for them….but I’m hoping to bring more people into it,” she said.
