UNOFFICIAL ELECTION RESULTS: Wishau Keeps His Seat On Village Board

We've got the latest poll results for the Village of Caledonia board races.

There was one contested race in Caledonia and Lee Wishau, the incumbent, won.

Lee Wishau garnered 2,421 votes and John Leiber earned 2,113 votes.

While there were three seats up for grabs, only one was a contested race. Village Board member Tom Weatherston sought re-election, but he ran unopposed. Kathleen Trentadue also ran for a seat on the Village Board after Jerry Griswold decided not to run for re-election. She was also unopposed.

Then there was the third seat, currently held by , who was challenged by  

Leiber said he feels like he out campaigned Wishau, and campaigned more on the issues rather than political position.

“I think I did well against someone who has never had an opponent before,” Leiber said. “I will continue to focus on my park commissioner duties. Who knows, I may run again some day.”

Wishau said he's happy to win a close race against a good candidate.

"I'm looking forward to the next two years on the board," Wishau said. "I think my 32 years of business (experience) will serve the Village well."
