WHY:  At A Global Crossroads: Turn Against War is a 200 mile walk from Madison to Chicago intended to promote dialogue and to build opposition to the ongoing carnage of war in Afghanistan.  The walkers insist that NATO must use its upcoming summit to plan a complete withdrawal of military forces from Afghanistan and an end to drone strikes in the region. The NATO nations must also seize this opportunity to cooperatively allocate the funds necessary for a full reconstruction campaign in Afghanistan, to be directed by Afghan civil society organizations.
