FDA Recalls Skippy Peanut Butter Over Possible Salmonella Contamination

Some jars may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Wisconsin is among 16 states the FDA is recalling some jars of Skippy Peanut Butter.

Unilever, which makes the peanut butter, is recalling Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.

No other Skippy products are affected by the recall and no illnesses have been reported. The recall was initiated because a routine sampling indicated the finished products might contain bacteria.
