Gov. Walker in Sturtevant Tuesday for Jobs Announcement

Outboard motor manufacturer BRP US, Inc. is expected to finish adding 458 jobs by the end of this year because of a recent expansion.

Gov. Scott Walker's office announced Monday that he will visit BRP US, Inc. in Sturtevant Tuesday after the company expanded their facility to add 458 jobs over three years.

BRP - formally known as Bombardier Products - makes outboard motors and moved to from Waukegan, IL, about 10 years ago. The Evinrude division remained in Waukegan but the company decided to consolidate its locations, resulting in the expansion.

According to Village Clerk/Interim Administrator Mary Cole, some of the jobs are relocated and some are brand new positions. The company started adding the new jobs in 2010 and is expected to fill the rest by the end of 2012.

Really User? Where is your proof? BRP continues to exceed expectations. Three cheers to their continued investment in Racine County, and Governor Walkers initiatives to create a better Wisconsin business climate. Win/Win.

Mr. User Name, The expansion was a result of a consolidation of the outboard division, and a great decision by BRP to move it all here to Sturtevant. I was happy to support this expansion. This company lived up to it's goals to add meaningful jobs and expand it's footprint because of a partnership between the Village, the County, the State and the Company. All working for the same goal. Not sure where you put an Evenrude on a train however....

@ thisismyusername~ BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) broke off from Bombardier several years ago, and has different owners/investers. Any money for rail given to Bombardier would not have found it's way to BRP. I don't like Walker, but I also don't like misinformation.

Great news for a fine company, a nice town and for Wisconsin.
