TEA Party Expects More Than 3,500 People For Rally Saturday

The Racine TEA Party political action committee is hosting a rally on Saturday as part of a last minute push for votes before the recall election on June 5.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Gorney Park, 8201 Nicholson Rd.

Nancy Milholland, one of the organizing members of the event, said they are expecting more than 3,500 people to attend.

“Expect to be pumped up and engaged, and ready to go help get out the vote,” she said.

On June 5, Wisconsin voters will decide wether Gov. Scott Walker, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, and four Senators will be recalled. Among those four senators is Sen. Van Wanggaard, who represents , and in the 21st Senate District. Walker is running against Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, Kleefisch is running against Mahlon Mitchell, and Wanggaard is running against John Lehman.

The rally will feature Congressman Paul Ryan; All Patriots Media – Tony Katz; Breibart.com and CNN contributor Dana Loesch, the “rock star of radio;” Wisconsin’s Vicki McKenna; Pennsylvania Tea Party Activist & Fox News Contributor Jenn Stefano; Wanggaard and more. 

While the biggest emphasis will be on the local state senate race, the rally will also focus on the Lt. Governor and Governor race, Milholland said.

“Ryan has always said that Racine County is a bellwether county because how county goes is how the state goes,” Milholland said. “And I say, if Van, and Walker win, then Obama loses.”

Obama may not actually lose on June 5, but the belief is he’ll lose steam with a Republican victory in Wisconsin, since the unions back Obama and he has a vested interest in Wisconsin.

This is the first time the Racine TEA Party, which just recently formed a political action committee, has backed candidates.

Milholland said the focus of the rally and the Racine TEA Party PAC, is to bring the focus to Racine County.

“We want to reach out to that person who is not as informed, that last minute guy who hasn’t made up his mind,” she said. “We’re really trying to wake everyone up, and get the troops activated and excited.

If you plan to attend the event, keep in mind that 7 Mile Road is closed and you may want to take Highway G or Ryan Road. The gates open at 9 a.m.
