Village Board Has Yet To Make Decision On Conceal Carry Issue

As a number of communities have decided on whether they will allow weapons to be carried into their buildings, but Caledonia hasn't made that decision yet.

If you applied for a conceal carry permit and got one, you can carry a handgun into the state capitol, but not Gateway Technical College.

But the Village of Caledonia Board has yet to take up the issue. Ron Coutts, the Village President, said he hasn't put it on the agenda because they've been working on the budget.

So what do you think?

As a business owner in Franksville, I certainly do NOT want concealed weapons, or weapons of any sort in my business. There seems to be some concern regarding the letter of this new law which may hold businesses hostage, however. According to a news report last night, there is verbage in the law which would make business owners liable if they post any signs banning weapons from their place of business, but have a gun say, accidentally fire on their property. I haven't read the law, so I'm not sure about this information, but I am concerned. Denise, do you have any more information regarding the particulars of the law?
