Wanggaard Backs Walker's 'Budget Repair Bill'

The state senator said he would vote for the bill after changes were made to protect worker safety.

Republican State Sen. Van Wanggaard, whose district includes Caledonia, announced he will vote in favor of Gov. Scott Walker's controversial "budget repair" bill.

Wangaard said he came to the decision after changes were made to the bill to address some of the concerns of the hundreds of residents he talked to about the bill.

"No compromise is perfect, but I am thankful that the bill has been substantially modified to add additional worker protection," he said in a prepared statement.
