What Will Your Village Board Be Talking About Tomorrow Night?

Keep up on what the Caledonia Village Board is doing. We've outlined several items set to be discussed at the Village Board meeting. Tomorrow night they'll consider spending over $21 million for capitol improvement projects.

The Caledonia Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. May 15 at the Caledonia Community Center, 6156 Douglas Ave. Here are a few of the items they'll be talking about at the meeting.

1. Approval of blacksmith shop/museum for in Linwood Park. Last month the Village Board requested that the Historical Society present their plans to the Parks Commission.

2. The is almost $16.6 million to finance a number of sewer, water and roads projects. The most significant projects include borrowing $8.6 million for an attenuation basin for the Hoods Creek area, and $2.3 million in sewer upgrades to the Kremer subdivision. A number of the projects were already approved in the Village budget. An additional $2.2 million—not included in the $16.6 million—was also discussed for infrastructure upgrades to the Caledonia Business Park.

3. Award contract for water tower at 4611 7 Mile Rd. serving the Oak Creek service area and for the .

4. Award contract for Project for 4-Mile Road/ UPRR Track Construction Project 2012-01. Mike Hayek, the village engineer, told the Board last month that he had to re-bid the contract to lay the train tracks, .
