Spike 'n Splash includes Olympics volleyball medalist and a world watercraft champion

       Spike 'n Splash, presented this Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16 by Real Racine, will include a member of the 2008 Olympics gold medal men's volleyball team and the world's highest-ranking professional watercraft racer. The action takes place at North Beach on Racine's lakefront.

            Riley Salmon, who helped Team USA win a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will compete in the EVP Pro Beach Volleyball pro division. He will be among the two-person men's and women's teams playing for cash prizes.

            James Bushell, an Australian now living in the United Kingdom, will compete in the 2013 US UWP-ISJBA National Tour, which includes the weekend watercraft competition in Racine. The 28-year-old has won eight world championships, eight British Stock championships and nearly 20 other international titles.

            Spike 'n Spike combines exciting beach volleyball and watercraft competition. The EVP Pro Beach Volleyball teams will take to the beach from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and for the finals from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

            The watercross competition, which includes head-to-head racing and freestyle divisions, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. The thrilling freestyle competition takes place about noon both days.

            Spectator admission is free to all events. Food and beverages will be available.
