Case Wins 54-40 Over Horlick, Faces Hamilton on Thursday

The Case Eagles played a nearly flawless game against the Horlick Rebels Saturday night, beating them 54-40 and moving one step closer to going to the state tournament.

Way to go, Eagles!

The Case High School boys basketball team put on a great show Saturday night against the Horlick Rebels, coming out on top 54-40. Their win means they move on to the next round in the WIAA boys basketball play-offs.

Case will face Milwaukee Hamilton for the sectional semi-final on Thursday at Case.

According to a story from The Journal Times, the Eagles' tough defense helped seal their victory, forcing turnovers that turned into points for Case.

But they weren't slacking on offense, either, pulling senior Zack Brenner off the bench to do what he does best; shoot and make 3-pointers. Combined with junior D'Angelo Jackson's 11 points - including a slam dunk - and solid efforts by the rest of the team, the Eagles were 35-19 at the end of the 3rd quarter, pulling ahead to 54-40 by the final buzzer.

Readers can keep up with boys basketball action by using the WIAA's handy bracket.
