Informational Meetings About Potential Redistricting

Board of Education members and RUSD administrators will present redistricting options and provide an opportunity for parents and community members to ask questions and learn more about possible changes.

The Racine Unified Board of Education is currently considering redistricting options in order to address:

  • Declining enrollment and the utilization of school buildings to their full capacity,
  • The District’s $6.5 million budget deficit for 2012-2013; and
  • Providing more choice for District families.

The Board is currently considering two redistricting options that would close Wind Point and Goodland Elementary Schools, move students from the Racine Early Education Center and Red Apple Early Childhood to Goodland and expand the magnet school program at Red Apple, which currently has a waiting list.
