Program On Underage Drinking Set

With Prom and Graduation seasons quickly approaching, the Racine County Youth Coalition (RCYC) and Focus on Community, Inc., are providing a forum to discuss the issue of underage drinking in our community.   A Town Hall meeting will be held at Washington Park High School Theater, 1901 12th ST., Racine, Wisconsin on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 6-8pm. Students of all ages, parents and community members are encouraged to attend. Some lucky participants may receive a family four pack of movie passes to a Marcus Theater!

The RCYC is happy to announce that Your Choice, a drug and alcohol awareness program will be leading discussions for both youth and adults.  Your Choice is comprised of young adult and parent speakers who have joined forces to help educate youth and families by sharing their stories.  During their insightful presentations, Your Choice members speak candidly with the audience about the devastating consequences of underage substance abuse.  Visit www.yourchoice-live.org for more information on the presenters.

According to the Your Choice Website, “Our goals are to raise awareness about the risks of drugs and alcohol to youth, parents and the community by educating the entire community. Together, we can help them work to remove barriers, to openly discuss the issues, the devastating effects, and restructure resources offering a variety of support, education, counseling and treatment.”
