Horlick High School 36th Annual High Renaissance Feast Set
Come be magically, musically transported back to 16th century England by the Horlick High School Renaissance choral selections and orchestral music.
Be amazed by our ornate, historic costumes, a flurry of acrobatics and swordplay, the sights and sounds of piously wandering monks and a heavenly Horlick High School balcony choir.
Try to tease our stoic yeomen and be cajoled by our flower and candy sellers. All good fun, but . . . ah, the sumptuous feast! Tempt your palate with wild rice soup, a cheese plate and hearty bread, followed by a fresh salad. But watch out for conniving beggars! You will toast the Queen 's health with warm wassail and dine upon suckling pig, orange glazed chicken, roast beef, parsley potatoes, green beans almandine, stuffing and fresh fruit. Finish the meal with a tempting, glazed gingerbread and coffee, all served by wenches that will encourage you to eat to your heart 's desiring!
You may want to enhance the experience by attending in costume. Be sure to bring your singing voice as the Queen commands you sing for your supper. The stocks or the sword's sting might greet the disobedient!
The feast will be held at DeKoven Center, 600 21st St. on the following dates:
- Saturday, Dec. 1 (chapel opens 6 p.m.)
- Sunday, Dec. 2 (matinee - chapel opens 4 p.m.)
