If you've always wanted to serve on the Racine Unified Board of Education, here's your chance to do so.
Racine Unified is accepting applications from members of the community to fill Gretchen Warner's seat. She announced last month that she was resigning this month because she was moving to Arizona.
BOE members will vote to appoint the successful candidate at the Sept. 16 board meeting.
Warner has been a member of the Board of Education since 2006. She was re-elected in 2012, and that term expires in 2015. The new appointee will have the choice to run to retain the seat in the April 2014 election.
Applications can be submitted to any current board member. Visit the district's website at www.racine.k12.wi.us or calling (262) 664-8715.
