School District Reminds Drivers to Slow Down

Snow presents many challenges to drivers, but slowing down will help.

With piles of snow forcing residents to walk in streets, officials with the Racine Unified School District are asking drivers to take their time navigating the streets.

Schools are expected to be back in session tomorrow and with many students walking to school, drivers need to slow down and be extra cautious.

“Although, city, municipal and public school employees have worked incredibly hard to clear Racine streets and make public schools accessible, concerns remain regarding pedestrian, student and driver safety,” according to a press release by the School District. “High snow banks reduce visibility and un-cleared sidewalks may force pedestrians and students to walk in the streets.”
