Czernicki Earns Racine PTA Council Scholarship

His educational future focuses on architecture.

Tyler Czernicki was among 25 high school seniors, who received scholarships at the annual Racine PTA Council Scholarship and Awards banquet held earlier this month at the Racine Marriott.

Ever since he took an introductory architecture class during his freshman year at Horlick High School, Czernicki has been hooked on architecture.  He says he’s fascinated by structure, buildings, and construction.

Tyler has built himself a reputation as a hard-worker.  He’s been employed doing yard work in the summer and snow removal in the winter. Starting in seventh grade, he’s participated each year in a mission trip through his church.  Now he even has a part-time job as one of the janitors at his church, cleaning, painting, and making repairs.

He’s worked hard at school, too.  In addition to academics, he’s been on Horlick’s baseball team and a member of the National Honor Society.

And the hard work will continue, as Tylor pursues a degree in architecture at UW–Milwaukee.  In his essay, he writes that he loves to design houses and wants to work to make them more solid and more energy-efficient—certainly important for homes here in Wisconsin.

We would like to wish Tylor much success as we present him with one of the 2011 Racine PTA Council Scholarships.
