What to do....what to do.

This summer has not started out to be the best for weather or summer activities. Since May, I have had my heat on in my house more than my AC. While that is good for my wallet, it is not so good for keeping my girls from being bored. Since it seems that kids and water go together like peanut butter and jelly, and since the current weather is not cooperating with water time, what is there to do with the preschoolers?

While I have some ideas that I will share, I hope to start a dialogue of ideas for dads and moms alike. I hope to keep the ideas to younger kids like 7 and under since that is the age range of my kids. And since the economy is rough, extra points will be given ideas that are inexpensive. So put your ideas in the comments section below.

Here are some of the things I do with my girls:

  • Start a household or outdoor scavanger hunt. Have the kids find items outside like small rocks or flowers. When you are indoors, have them find toys that happen to be laying out and then when found have them put them away.
  • Video games have progressed passed Pong. Wii has some great games to keep kids active and busy.  
  • The Play area in Franksville is always an option even when the weather is not to nice.
