It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

I would like the ability to make everything that isn't normally consumed NOT taste like chicken.

To wear a 'cape' in public without fear of embarrassment :: [I'd wear the mask too, but I'm not sureRead More that would go over well at the bank ...or... grocery store --- I don't think people would 'see through the costume', to my 'good guy' Superhero persona, before they would speed-diall 911 ]

How can I buy some K9 shirts?
Heather Asiyanbi September 24, 2013 at 10:49 am

4-Mile Road between Douglas Avenue and Charles Street will remain open during a county paving project.
deblmc September 20, 2013 at 04:16 pm
Really, they couldn't have done this the 2 years 4 mile was closed?
Kristen Maes Beattie September 21, 2013 at 09:39 am
More work on 4 Mile Road?!? Thanks for keeping the road open during construction. We are stillRead More getting used to the other side finally being open!
Edgeman September 22, 2013 at 08:09 am
Really, maybe you could have started a month ago, when there was no traffic from the underpass.Read More I'll bet it's not finished by Oct.15,2013.
Thank you, Laura Giese and Eddie Willing for the video clips of driving on 4-Mile Road.
Dennis Gehrke September 15, 2013 at 10:49 am
And yet everyone will keep their job and it will be swept under the rug. BTW, Four Mile, East ofRead More Douglas will be closing this fall to resurface. And the incompetence continues...

I can hear it now from the Village board,"we couldn't have done this without MikeRead More Hayek"!!! Yep, you're darn right, could have been done in a year without him!

"Everything that possibly could go wrong with this project did." No, it's calledRead More MISMANAGEMENT!!!! Let's hope those involved will be seeking gainful employment elsewhere. I highly doubt it, we love incompetence!

I don't think concrete is an affordability issue, it was always planned as asphalt as required byRead More Caledonia for new construction.
Travis Bickle September 2, 2013 at 10:54 pm
Might as well just leave it gravel and we can call it done

I can't believe the summer months have come so fast. It's amazing how unprepared I was this season!Read More I really should call somebody to come and make the necessary repairs for the air conditioning system. http://mikesbremenserviceinc.com/air-conditioning/

The rain sensor on my irrigation sensor is still on. Tomorrow is a watering day, we'll see if I canRead More "waste" more by 5.15 am when zone 1 starts up. I'd don't know why you'd plant anything but bluegrass mixes.

Lawns are bad!!! Ground cover much better. Lawn mowers are the worse air polluter's. They want usRead More all to drive tiny cars and take the bus, and cars are not the real problem, it is the lawn mowers. The people here put so many chemicals on their lawn that they have to mow every couple of days. My neighbors mower is so bad that, from inside the house, it sounds like a jet plane is about to crash into the house! Every time I am weeding, he mows, and the fumes are so bad, I have to go into the house.

Sounds like you have a balanced view taking in account many examples and units to come up with aRead More sensible hypothesis.
"Fill the Boot" with Caledonia firefighters Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the intersection of 3-Mile and Douglas.
Jeff August 16, 2013 at 04:04 pm
Heather, as someone who grew up with a father who was a firefighter I can assure you that they areRead More not taking any huge risks by doing this. These are people that stand in front of a burning car with a hose to keep it from exploding or walk into a burning building to pull someone out. It's both a career and an identity for these folks and I think it's awesome to see how this annual event has grown over the years. (From what I remember the fill the boot started here in the late 70's/early 80's) In the past they've stood in lots of areas besides intersections but I'm going to guess they take in far more donations from an intersection than they do in a parking lot on a closed road.
Heather in Caledonia August 16, 2013 at 09:56 pm
Yes, but this is not in the line of duty - this is fundraising for a (worthy) cause, but not to saveRead More a person from a burning building. I think it is very nice of them to do this, but at the same time I think they're not modeling safe behavior and putting themselves and motorists at risk. I always make it a point to avoid these intersections at this time. I'm assuming no one has ever been injured at one of these events and I hope it stays that way.
Heather in Caledonia August 16, 2013 at 10:04 pm
Jeff, many of my friends are firefighters here in town and elsewhere. I understand the courage andRead More dedication it takes. However, I still see this as an unnecessary risk and a poor example for those high school kids who end up waving boards at intersections. I've seen many groups of kids and church members over the years jumping between cars either asking for donations or trying to get cars to come to washes... nearly hit a kid a couple of years ago.
KEEP ON KEEPING ON August 16, 2013 at 11:04 am
Fran- I know that despite the flashing light at G and H that the home on the East side of theRead More intersection has been the scene of an accident at least 2 times or more since installation. There are rumble strips there as well. I drive from NGB taking 5 mile, 6 or 7 mile every day during the school year to pick up my son in the county. I will not take 7 mile east because it is very difficult to see due to the trees on the SW corner. And people speed terribly on Nicholson. I wonder if some confusion lies in the fact that if you head west on any of those roads, some intersections are 2 way stops, some 4. I don't think people pay enough attention to that and presume they are all consistent. And I think a lot of drivers take liberties past 31 thinking it's rural, less traffic, I'll speed and roll through stops. For the specific intersection in question, I think the 1st discussion should be had with the property owners in area and their thoughts. And the tree situation.
Frances Martin August 16, 2013 at 12:29 pm
good idea re property owners. It would be the Groves on the Northwest corner -maybe the nearbyRead More owners could meet and figure out what they'd want . Bobby Grove is a county commissioner.
Tuco August 16, 2013 at 02:23 pm
Is this the same Mike Hayek who engineered the 4 mile underpass? Maybe this is the same Mike HayekRead More who said it's a state problem when I called and asked about a temporary stop sign on Hwy 31 by 5 mile road. Rumble strips are noisy and irritate the neighbors. The ones on 6 mile west of 31 were covered up to stop the noise. Install an LED flashing stop sign same as G and H. You can see the stop sign way beyond the train tracks.
