Romney rallies crowd, saying Mitt Romney gave women key roles as Massachusetts governor.
Ann Romney told a crowd of supporters Thursday in Milwaukee that her husband is steadfast on protecting the economic and social interests of women. Introduced by Wisconsin's First Lady Tonette Walker, Romney, flanked by an American flag and a banner that read "Wisconsin (hearts) Ann," roused a crowd of more than 200 supporters – most of whom were women – in the old gym on the Marquette University campus. "He cares about women ... making the economy work for women," said the wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. "We need to have women understand Mitt is a person who cares." Local Republican college students get ready for rally for Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.
Dozens of college students at Marquette University were busy Wednesday evening making posters in preparation for Ann Romney’s speech on campus Thursday. Downstairs in the gymnasium, risers were being set up for the media as local Republicans were getting everything ready for Ann Romney to campaign for her husband Mitt Romney’s presidential bid. It wasn't Manitowoc native Tyler Martell, a junior at Marquette, first time volunteering politically. But this time it was different, he told Patch before he began making a poster with a Twitter hashtag to promote the campaign of Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan. “This one is a lot more exciting, there is a lot more people involved,” Martell said. “It’s a national race. … I just think there is…

We are our own worst enemy in a time when divide and conquer seems to be a pretty effective strategy. In the past couple years, women’s rights have been attacked and threatened on a gradually increasing basis. And now it is simply blatant without any attempt of disguise. Women’s health, contraception, right to choose, equal pay … are we honestly headed back to the days of the Don Drapers and scotch-laden business meetings? Yesterday I saw the following post on a friend’s Facebook page: An open letter to Ann Romney: Dear Mrs. Romney, Perhaps you can advise me. Since you …

The flurry of ads and campaign appearances are just beginning here as GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney's wife appears at Miss Katie's Diner in Milwaukee with state Sen. Alberta Darling.
The first wave of the upcoming tide of GOP presidential campaigning in Wisconsin descended upon Miss Katie's Diner Thursday morning, with an appearance by Ann Romney, wife of the Republican frontrunner. Romney was introduced to the small diner crowd by state Sen. Alberta Darling, who co-chairs Mitt Romney's Wisconsin campaign with former state Sen. Ted Kanavas. Darling said Wisconsin is undergoing a "revolution," and said Badger state voters are "very different from Illinois." She predicted that Romney will fare better in Wisconsin than he did in Tuesday's Illinois primary, where he took 47 percent of the vote. "We are Romney turf here in Wisconsin," she said. The Romneys, who celebrated their anniversary yesterday, received additional …
