After almost two weeks of counting, the results are in from the recount of the Branch 10 of the Racine County Circuit Court election between attorneys Timothy Boyle and Mark Nielsen.
After a close margin of only 61 votes on election night, the final tally is even smaller, but in the end, Timothy Boyle is the new judge in Branch 10 of the Racine County Circuit Court. He edged out Attorney Mark Nielsen by just 45 votes for the seat, according to a story in The Journal Times. Final counts give Boyle 16,054 votes to Nielsen's 16,009 votes. On election night just 61 votes separated the candidates. After outstanding absentee ballots were added, the margin shrunk to 57 votes. Nielsen requested the recount allowable by state statute because the margin of separation was less than one-half of one percent.

Unofficial results on April 3 put Timothy Boyle ahead of incumbent Judge Mark Nielsen by just 61 votes. After Racine County's Board of Canvass, that lead narrowed to 57 votes, which means there will most likely be a recount.
*Updated at 4:25 pm April 12. Turns out those outstanding absentee ballots did make a difference in the race for Branch 10 of the Circuit Court. At the end of the night April 3, attorney Timothy Boyle led incumbent Judge Mark Nielsen by just 61 votes; 16,039 to 15,978. With over 400 absentee ballots yet to be counted - a new law gives absentee voters until 4 pm the Friday after the election to return their ballots - there was every possibility those votes could change the outcome of this election. Mount Pleasant Village Clerk/Treasurer Veronica Rudychev said she only received a handful of that village's 75 outstanding absentee ballots, and the votes were evenly split between Boyle and Nielsen. Over in Sturtevant, though, Clerk/Deputy …

Polling places around Caledonia saw a steady stream of voters throughout the day. People of all ages took the opportunity to vote Tuesday. Poll workers reported similar turnout to past elections and no incidents had occurred as far as people attempting to negatively influence the voting process in any way. Here's what we've learned so far. I think people like to come by at the end of their day, vote, and …

The Republican presidential primary in Wisconsin is heating up. Ads are playing on television and candidates are starting to make appearances. And now, in a new poll released today from Rasmussen Reports, Mitt Romney leads Rick Santorum by 13 points, a new twist from two previous surveys that put Santorum in the lead. Last month, survey results from a Marquette University poll showed Santorum in the lead with 34 percent of the vote compared to Romney's 18 percent. Likewise, a poll from Public Policy Polling a week later resulted in a similar outcome: Santorum with another double-digit lead over Romney, 43 to 27 percent, respectively. Results from the Rasmussen Report show Romney in the lead with 46 percent over Santorum's 33 percent. The …
