Caledonia and Racine police respond to an armed bank robbery at TCF Bank in Racine Monday afternoon.
Two suspects are in custody following a robbery at TCF Bank, 3935 Douglas Ave., at 2:45 p.m. Monday. Racine Police arrested a 39-year-old man and a 28-year-old man; both men face charges of armed robbery, operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, and fleeing and eluding a police officer. According to a press release by the Racine Police Department and scanner reports, one of the men brandished a gun and demanded money from the bank teller. The employee complied and the two men left the bank. After the armed robbery, the suspects drove away in a gold Grand Am, which was found on South Creek Road. Racine Police apprehended two men who are accused of robbing a southside gas station Friday morning.
**Updated 1:15 p.m. Racine Police Friday afternoon apprehended two men suspected of holding up a south side gas station the same morning. According to a story running in The Journal Times, two armed men walked into the Fine Fare Foods store, 1819 Durand Avenue, at about 10 a.m. One of them had a gun, witnesses said, and they both wore sunglasses and ski masks. “I heard them say get down and that is exactly what I did,” a woman is quoted as saying. “I got down and I didn’t look up. Racine police say the Landmark Credit Union on Grove Avenue was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the Mount Pleasant location was also robbed at gunpoint.
The Racine Police Department is asking for the public's help apprehending the man who robbed Landmark Credit Union at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon. According to a press release from RPD, a man wielding a handgun approached a teller at the Grove Avenue location shortly after noon and demanded money. Racine Police are asking for the public's help to find the suspect who robbed at gun point volunteers working at Habitat for Humanity in the city. On July 25 at approximately 9:52 a.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Racine Street to the offices of Habitat for Humanity for a report of an armed robbery. When police arrived, the victims reported that they were working when the suspect approached them armed with a handgun. Sturtevant Police are asking for the public's help locating the suspect in an armed robbery of the US Bank on Wisconsin Street.
Police need the public's help finding the suspect of an armed robbery in Sturtevant. Sturtevant Police Chief Sean Marschke confirmed reports that at 10:31 am Thurs., Oct. 20, an armed suspect got away with an unknown amount of money from the US Bank at 2953 Wisconsin Street. No one was injured. The suspect is described as a black male, 25-30 years old, about 6 feet tall with a thin build. Police initially thought the case was connected to a Racine murder, but the two are not connected, Police say.
Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery and battery that happened last month. The incident happened at 11 p.m. May 8 at the Country Inn Motel, 5828 Douglas Ave., but it was reported a few days later. The victim in the attempted armed robbery and battery case called the Caledonia Police Department after seeing media reports of the homicide investigation where a man was killed outside Peg and Lou’s tavern in Racine on May 10.
