Military Moms React to News of Bin Laden's Death
Whether or not this news changes anything remains to be seen, they say.
Sue Gourdoux said that news of Osama Bin Laden's death is a blessing, but Americans should remain alert. Her son, Joe, served two tours in Iraq and narrowly missed being sent to Afghanistan for his third tour. Instead, he played a support role in Kuwait. "I know this is closure for some of the families," Gourdoux said. "But we shouldn't let (Bin Laden's) death decrease our fears. There's another evil guy to take his place." Gourdoux is the president of the Blue Star Mothers Southeast Wisconsin, Chapter 2, an organization that supports the moms of active and retired military.
