Burglary Spree Ends in Arrest and Multiple Felony Charges

A Racine man faces over 100 years in prison after police say he broke into a number of homes throughout Racine County last year.

A Racine man is looking at serious time behind bars after police say he broke into a number of homes throughout Racine County last year with a rotating group of friends. Aaron Mianecki, 26, was charged Thursday in Racine County Circuit Court with four counts of felony burglary of a building or dwelling; three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon; two counts of felony theft with special facts; and one felony count of receiving property valued at greater than $10,000. If convicted, he faces 102 years in prison and/or $220,000 in fines. Because Mianecki is considered a repeat offender, a judge has the discretion to add more time to any sentence he might receive. Jewelry Missing From Caledonia Home

Woman discovers jewelry worth more than $4,000 went missing from her home sometime in the last half of 2012.

Rarely-worn jewelry pieces worth more than $4,000 were reported taken from a home in the 6900 block of Prince Drive sometime between June 1 and Dec. 31. The owner told police she discovered the jewelry missing in early December but didn't call police because she thought it would be "futile to report it," according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department.  But when the woman reported the missing items to her insurance company, she told police, they required her to fill out a police report for the 13 pieces worth $4,380. She didn't have any suspects to report, according to the police report.

Cash And Safe Taken During Burglary At Floral Creations, Police Say

Burglars take $1,000s from local florist, say Caledonia Police.

Over $550 in cash from a register and a safe containing $3,240 was taken from the store sometime before 12:56 p.m. Feb. 12 at Floral Creations, 5200 Douglas Ave. A garage door, metal filing cabinet and a metal door were also damaged, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department. While the rear south door was found unlocked, police found pry marks on all of the exterior doors to the business. They also found that several valuable items were not taken. The owners told police that they don’t know who broke into the business and don’t believe any of their employees were involved. The case remains under investigation.

Burglars And Thief Take Up Politics And Power Washing

Burglary Someone damaged a doorframe and took a gas power washer from a garage sometime before 2:34 p.m. Friday in the 6100 block of East Frontage Road. The estimated value of the power washer is $350 and the estimated damage is $150. A garage was burglarized and a bicycle was taken from a garage sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Ellis Ave. Theft Obama and Tammy Baldwin political signs were taken from a residence in the 4900 block of Charles Street sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. According to a report by the Caledonia Police Department, the homeowner told police that several signs were taken two weeks ago.

Two Teens Allegedly Steal, Then Return Golf Bag to Victim

Two teenagers hoped that an apology and return of the victim's property would suffice, but he is pressing charges and now they both face felonies.

An apology didn't do any good after two teens were allegedly caught stealing golf clubs from an open garage in Racine. Jordan Zimmerman, 18, of Mount Pleasant, and Kevin Flick, 17, of Caledonia, were charged Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court with a single count each of felony burglary of a building or dwelling. If convicted, they each face up to 12-1/2 years in prison and/or up to $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: Zimmerman and Flick were driving around Monday afternoon after spending time at McDonald's and Johnson Park when they spotted an open garage of a home on N. Teen, 16, Charged With String of Spring Burglaries

Suspect charged after he's caught breaking into homes in Caledonia and Mount Pleasant earlier this year with two other teenagers.

A 16-year-old Racine man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into homes in Caledonia and Mount Pleasant and allegedly tried to break into several more in the area. Devontae M. Cobbins was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Monday with two counts of burglary, two counts of obstructing an officer and four counts of attempted burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 51 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint: On April 23, Caledonia police officers were investigating an attempted burglary in the 5100 block of Erie Street, when they were called to a burglary in progress in the 5100 block of Ruby Avenue where a woman and her daughter had locked themselves in an upstairs room after they heard two men break into their home. …

Three Teens Suspected of Burglaries in Mount Pleasant, Caledonia

Mount Pleasant police confirm three teenage boys who allegedly broke into a home on Donegal may also be responsible for home invasions in Caledonia, too.

Two Charged With Stealing From Caledonia Cars, Gas

Suspects allegedly had several cans of gas in the trunk, which had been put in sideways and leaking while a drunk 17-year-old girl was sitting in the back seat.

Two Racine men are facing charges after they allegedly stole items from cars and a garage in Caledonia. Joshua R. Larson, 20 and Ricky M. Steil, 25, were charged in Racine County Circuit Court Monday with one count of burglary. If convicted, they face up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 11:22 p.m. Saturday, police were called to a home in the 4500 block of Scout Trail after a resident there noticed someone had rummaged through cars parked in their driveway and in the garage, and a gas can was missing from the home. Someone took LED house numbers from a residence sometime between 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and 12:54 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 6500 block of Meadow Dale Lane. Damage was estimated at $110. A four-foot tall wooden fence was spray painted with the letters “S D” sometime between 9 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10:41 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 5700 block of Winstar Lane. Damage was estimated at $40. The rear window of a 1989 Mitsubishi Target was smashed sometime between 4 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 3200 block of Great Oakes Drive. Damage was estimated at $300. A window was smashed and spray-painted the building with the phrase “262 CREW” sometime before 8:27 a.m. Nov. 6 at the old Western Publishing building, 5945 Erie St. The estimated damage is $2,000. Man Charged in Connection with Numerous Burglaries

Investigators say Timothy Staggers took tools, guns and a motorcycle from numerous businesses in Waukesha, Oneida and Racine counties.

A man is accused of taking guns, a motorcycle and thousands of dollars worth of tools from businesses, one of which is in Caledonia. The Racine County District Attorney’s Office charged Timothy Staggers, 31, of Racine, with receiving stolen property, burglary of a building or dwelling, and theft today. If convicted of all charges, Staggers faces up to 24 years in prison and fines up to $45,000. According to the criminal complaint, small motorcycle and motorcycle were taken from Zone 2 Extreme, 4543 Douglas Ave., on June 29, 2009. When deputies searched Staggers’ home and storage unit in July 2009, they found tools, firearms and a motorcycle. The motorcycle was the one stolen from Zone 2 Extreme.
