Looking for that ever popular park that needs a little TLC, Coca-Cola and Subway want you to tell them which parks should get $100,000. This made me wonder, which parks in Caledonia could use a little sprucing up?
Caledonia has some great outdoor recreational spaces. But is there a park in Caledonia that could use a little extra help? Coca-Cola and Subway are looking to give away money for "America's favorite park" and I thought it would be interesting to start a discussion about which parks in Caledonia might fit that bill. Take a look at our list of parks and recreational areas in Caledonia (be careful because there are a few of them in our directory that are just outside Caledonia). Lets do a little dreaming about what we could do with that money and I'd love to see some photos of your favorite parks. I'd love to see some of the parks in Caledonia get that money. Memorial Day is a great time to get out and enjoy the area parks. Check out our parks directory and get that picnic basket ready.

Big plans are being made for the River Bend Nature Center. Volunteers interested in seeing River Bend continue operating learned about the work that needs to be done -- fund-raising and cleaning up the place. A meeting, led by Roger Chernik, was held last night. Chernik heads a group called River Bend Nature Center Inc., the group that will operate River Bend once the Racine County Board approves the county purchase. Currently the YWCA owns the property.
