Man Crashes His Van Into A Car, Says 'I Might As Well Finish My Beer!'

A 46-year-old man landed in hot water with law enforcement for allegedly driving drunk, and crashing his van into a car. But then he reached into his van, grabs a beer and keeps drinking.

A man, who was caught speeding in front of an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, crashed his van into a car, got out of his van, said he might as well finish off his beer and chugged down his beverage. The 46-year-old man was driving a purple 1999 Dodge Caravan at 6:09 p.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Douglas Ave. He was arrested under suspicion of drunk driving, according to a report by the Caledonia Police Department. Charges have not formally been issued. Donald Kehring, who was driving a Chevy Impala southbound on Douglas, told police he was in the left lane when he saw the van approaching him in his rearview mirror. Home Invasions Prompt Police To Warn Residents To Be Vigilant

At least five home invasions in the area bounded by 3 Mile Road, Douglas Avenue and 4 1/2 Mile Road has prompted police to warn area residents to lock their doors and report suspicious activity.

A series of home invasion burglaries has prompted the Caledonia Police Department to urge residents to be extra vigilant and report suspicious activity. Lt. Gary Larsen said for the past five nights, at least one time every night there has been a home invasion or attempted burglary between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. in an area bounded by Douglas Avenue, 4 ½ Mile Road and 3 Mile Road. Two men allegedly cut window screens and broke glass to get into the homes while people were in the home at the time. Sgt. Brian Wall said officers chased one of the men for about a block at about 10 p.m. in the 5100 block of Ruby Avenue Monday night. “Officers lost the suspect when they went into the woods just east of Ruby Avenue,” Wall said. One Man Charged And A Second Suspect Identified In Grocery Store Thefts

The two men took off with bottles of liquor from a Caledonia and Mt. Pleasant grocery store. One is custody and a second suspect has been identified by the Caledonia Police Department.

Two men, who were desparate for a drink and decided to steal booze, are in hot water with the Mt. Pleasant and Caledonia police departments. Devlon L. Driggers, 39, of Caledonia, was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with two misdemeanor counts of retail theft. Caledonia Police also suspect a 35-year-old Racine man was also involved in two thefts, but he has yet to be charged. The two men allegedly took alcohol from the Piggly Wiggly, 5201 Washington Ave., at 8:26 p.m. Oct. 26 and at Pick’n Save, 5111 Douglas Ave. at 1:33 p.m. Nov. 13. Update: Suspect In Armed Robbery Turns Self Into Police

Suspect allegedly robbed the clerk at Wind Point Mobile at gunpoint.

Original Story: Detectives with the Caledonia Police Department are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that happened at 6:51 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27 at the Wind Point Mobil gas station, 414 3 Mile Road. The masked man robbed a store clerk at gunpoint with a dark colored semi-automatic handgun and ordered him to put the money into a black backpack. Once the clerk filled the backpack, the suspect took the unknown amount of cash, according to a press release by the Caledonia Police Department. The man is thought to have left on foot. Caledonia Man's Netflix Account Connects Him To Stolen Property

Several witnesses describe a disturbing scene where police, who had their guns drawn, surrounded the man's home while they were serving a search warrant.

UPDATE: Law enforcement officials apprehended Perione Robbins, 22, who lives at 3032 Elderberry Road. Robbins faces charges from the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department and the Caledonia Police Department. Sgt. CRIME BLOTTER: Vandals, Thief And Burglar Hit A Number Of Residences On Caledonia's East Side

The following information was supplied by the Caledonia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Someone took LED house numbers from a residence sometime between 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and 12:54 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 6500 block of Meadow Dale Lane. Damage was estimated at $110. A four-foot tall wooden fence was spray painted with the letters “S D” sometime between 9 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10:41 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 5700 block of Winstar Lane. Damage was estimated at $40. The rear window of a 1989 Mitsubishi Target was smashed sometime between 4 p.m. Nov. 5 and 10 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 3200 block of Great Oakes Drive. Damage was estimated at $300. A window was smashed and spray-painted the building with the phrase “262 CREW” sometime before 8:27 a.m. Nov. 6 at the old Western Publishing building, 5945 Erie St. The estimated damage is $2,000. CALEDONIA POLICE BLOTTER: 'Tis The Season For Smashing Pumpkins And Thefts

A laptop computer belonging to the pastor of a church was taken sometime between 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10 and 8:20 a.m. Oct. 11 from St. Mesrob Church, 4605 Erie St. Someone threw a pumpkin at a 1997 BMW and smashed the back window sometime before 11:58 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 in the 2700 block of Northbridge Drive. The officer also noticed pumpkins smashed on the road in other areas of the subdivision. The estimated damage is $950. A pumpkin was thrown at a car, which caused a dent in the front driver’s side quarter panel, sometime between 9:30 p.m. and 9:48 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in the 2800 block of Sunrise Road.
