Eddie Willing and David Prott are vying for a Caledonia village trustee seat in the April 2 election.
Eddie Willing will take on David Prott in the April 2 election in the race for Caledonia Trustee No. 1 seat on the Caledonia Village Board. (Click on link for biographical information on Willing and Prott). The winner will replace Kathy Burton on the board, who decided not to seek re-election. Trustees serve two-year terms and are paid $6,600 per year. To provide residents with the most information about the election, Patch asked the candidates their views on the key issues facing the village. Here, in their own words, are the candidates' answers to those questions as well as some posed by Patch. Prott did not return the candidate questionnaire. I am running for the Village Board because I have a great deal of appreciation and respect for…

The organizing group consists of Caledonia resident Eddie Willing, a member of Founders Intent; Paris Procopis, an activist affiliated with Founders Intent; Wisconsin state treasurer Kurt Schuller; the Tea Party Patriots; an unnamed former judge; and an unnamed state legislator. “We demand they respect the other two branches of government and allow our state to run by the consent of the people,” according to a statement released by the group. “Our state Constitution needs judges that apply the law the people write, not reinterpret it.” The purpose of the rally is to remind “judges they…

Eddie Willing loves politics and he's very tied into the Presidential election, so much so that he's helping Rick Perry's camp.
A Caledonia man will trek to Des Moines on Dec. 31 to help out with Rick Perry’s campaign in an effort to help prepare for the Iowa Caucus. Eddie Willing, a member of friends of Rick Perry, will help pass out campaign literature, do interviews, make phone calls and work at a precinct there. He'll also be bringing his four-year-old son, Riley, with him. He’ll be blogging for Patch from the Iowa GOP Caucus on Jan. 3. He’s also been blogging about foreign policy topics on his personal blog. Willing owns Lael Development, a marketing and sales training organization. “I’ve been a lover of politics for a very long time,” Willing said. Willing grew up in Wisconsin, but also lived in Oregon. He was homeschooled from K-12 and also went to college…

Also, to show ignorance on Ed's part, there is no meshed "union/liberal" vote. There are large unions who have voted Republican. IUOE 139 fully supports Gov. Walker. Ed, you can be assured that I swayed as many as possible away from supporting you. You don't even understand what unions advocate. After the election, I'd be happy to sit down and better explain. I'd also be happy to give you a tour …   more ›
