Recount Final Total: Lehman Wins By 819 Votes

The recount of the 21st District state Senate recall election ended Monday, however, Wanggaard is considering a legal challenge.

The recount in the 21st Senate District ended Monday, with Democrat John Lehman remaining the victor in the recall race against Republican Van Wanggaard. The final vote total: Lehman 36,358; Wanggaard 35,539, a difference of 819 votes. Racine County Clerk Wendy Christensen certified the results shortly before noon Monday and immediately sent the results to the state Government Accountability Board. "It shows that we won the election and all of these allegations of voter irregularities are false and are really much ado about nothing," Lehman said. The only reason fraud isn't being found is because no one is actively looking for it! All of the same day registrations that were done at those wards that realized a 100% or greater increase in the number of ballots cast vs the 2010 general election should be looked at and visits made to those addresses to see if those people actually live where they said they do. Voter Turnout Over 80 Percent In Caledonia

Residents in the Village of Caledonia came out in force to exercise their right to vote on Tuesday. Find out how residents voted.

The recall elections touched a nerve for residents in Caledonia as voter turnout for the recall elections dwarfed the turnout in the November 2010 Presidential election. More than 80 percent of registered voters in Caledonia came out to the polls during the election on Tuesday. In the November 2010 election, voter turnout was 58 percent and in the recall primary voter turnout was just over 45 percent. Polling sites at Holy Communion Church and St. Louis Church saw the most traffic with 82 percent of registered voters turning out. The lowest turnout was 77 percent at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Voters across the state will head back to the polls Tuesday to choose between Gov. Scott Walker and challenger Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. Republican Gov. TEA Party Expects More Than 3,500 People For Rally Saturday

As a last minute push, the Racine TEA Party PAC is hosting a rally from 10 to noon on Saturday at Gorney Park, 8201 Nicholson Road.

The Racine TEA Party political action committee is hosting a rally on Saturday as part of a last minute push for votes before the recall election on June 5. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Gorney Park, 8201 Nicholson Rd. Nancy Milholland, one of the organizing members of the event, said they are expecting more than 3,500 people to attend. “Expect to be pumped up and engaged, and ready to go help get out the vote,” she said.
