The people who leased South Hills said they were calling it quits because the owner of the property won't give them a long-term lease in November. Now, a former employee will operate the business.
South Hills Country Club will be under new management after the former operators shuttered their doors in Novemember. Nancy Martin worked for the former operator, Tom Jensen, for 13 years. She applied for a liquor license and told members of the Legislative and License Committee on Monday that she planned to re-open the business in March. The Jensen family closed the business and auctioned off everything in the business after the owner, Dan Hintz, wouldn't offer them a long-term lease. The Committee will recommend the license for approval from the Village Board, which will need to vote on the final approval at their next meeting on Jan. 17, 2012.
