OMG PD: The Odd and Odder from Police Reports

Tough-guy behavior appears in various forms through this week's collection of odd crime suburban news. If you consider greenskeeper Carl Spackler tough, that is.

It's been immortalized on radio morning shows such as Dave and Carole and Kramp and Adler ... here's this week's installment of strange and incredible suburban crime, OMG PD. You gotta fall back on superior firepower, and superior intelligence. Mom always said breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This version of Monopoly should have a “Stay in Jail Free” card. Did you ever wonder what it would be like to watch your car get stolen? It’s about like this. Who, exactly, is the “horrible person” here? _____________________ The above items are from reports from local police departments. Milwaukee-Area McDonald's Accept Monopoly Money to Kick Off Contest

Customers were allowed to bring in any denomination of money for a free order of large fries.

More than 120 McDonald's restaurants in metro Milwaukee kicked off the latest version the popular Monopoly game with a unique deal: Customers were able to use Monopoly money Tuesday to pay for a large order of fries. I'll take those crappy fries w/ extra salt and ketchup, please. Though, I would have to say that Kopp's does wonders with their crappy grilled cheese. I believe the bread is the equivilent of Wonder Bread, the cheese is Velveeta and the "butter" is a substitute. Add some sliced tomatoes w/ a little salt and it is crap heaven.   more ›

Caledonia Man May Not Have Won the Million, But That's OK

A trip through the McDonald's drive-thru earns a Caledonia man $10,000.

Aron Kothlow, 39, of Caledonia, didn't think of himself as a lucky guy, until now. Sure he had won $60 at Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha a few years back. But when he drove through the drive-thru at McDonald's, 3037 Douglas Ave. and pealed back the Monopoly tabs on his Coke, his luck had changed that afternoon in October. Kothlow, who works two jobs, thought he would have to register the code online first, and would be entered to win $10,000. But no, these tabs were instant winners. "I went to the counter and asked about them, then the woman told me 'No, those are instant winners and I won $10,000.'" Kothlow said. Anxiously, Kothlow called his wife, Neliane Kothlow, to tell her about his win. But she didn't really believe Aron had …
