This person made his choice.find Sad the pain he felt he had overtook his reason to live. On his personal case, I can certainly have sympathy to his family and friends. Clearly, the culture itself has become more deranged from a mental stand point. Society has shifted from a Family society which is about "US " to a "ME" society which is about "YOU". The danger in that is it tends to have people's …   more ›

Let's have a bit of restraint here, folks. True, there is a degree of selfishness involved in suicide. The person does have a sense of being overwhelmed by their inner pain, and has become convinced that the time for talking it out, for relying on faith, family, and friends to work through the situation, is over. But there is also a heavy amount of depression and chemical imbalance involved here…   more ›

Your funny, where do you do your stand-up act? They are the way they are because they choose to be lazy. It's easier to steal then work. Get their check from their Uncle Tom in the white house every week then steal your fun money. It's their American Way. Mount Pleasant Officer is An Author, Too

Mount Pleasant Police officer Brian Eisel has published a novel that fits with world events but also asks the reader to think a little bit.

Getting your audience to identify with, and perhaps even sympathize with, the terrorist main character of your first novel is a tall order; but Mount Pleasant Police officer Brian Eisel wants readers to do exactly that. Eisel is a 16-year veteran of the MPPD, serving as an evidence technician and as a senior traffic investigator. He has written Spiders in the Sand, a story about a young Iraqi man who as a child watched his father get murdered by an American. He joins a terrorist organization that encourages the young man's hatred of all things American, but when it comes time to getting his revenge, there's a choice to be made. "The main character is really the bad guy, and I'm asking readers to get inside his head so by the end you want …

School District, Police Here Have Planned for the Worst

Racine Unified officials have communications plans in place to keep parents informed should a school shooting occur here while local law enforcement have an action plan to take out the shooter.

Parents with children attending Racine Unified schools are reeling from the news that a shooter opened fire in a Connecticut elementary school, killing 27, most of them children. Katie Richter has a fifth grader in the district, and she is wondering what many parents are thinking. "Is it even safe to leave the house anymore? You can't even send innocent children to school anymore," she posted on Facebook. And it isn't just parents who are scared. Daniel DiFiore, a student at Case High School, said he's both grateful a tragedy like this hasn't happened here and scared that it could. "With all of these tragedies, should I be scared to continue my education at Case HS? I should talk to my parents about home schooling," he posted on the Mount …
