First Grapes 2 Glass-Piggly Wiggly Holiday Tasty Success

Grapes 2 Glass and Piggly Wiggly on Washington Avenue teamed up to bring wine and artisan cheese lovers together for a night of tastings.

Thursday was a night of tasty treats for grown-ups during the Holiday Wine Tasting presented by Grapes 2 Glass and Piggly Wiggly on Washington Avenue at the Sturtevant SportPlex. Wines from a variety of distributors - some of them growers and sommeliers - were presented for tasting and ordering at a dozen different tables. Grapes 2 Glass Wine Boutique features many of the wines on shelves at the store on Washington Avenue in Sturtevant. In the center of the room was a spread of tiny desserts, sliced fresh fruit, slivers of homemade sausages and artisan cheeses from Piggly Wiggly. High Cost, Hobby Lobby's Move May Stop Controlled Intersection Plans at Racine Centre

A traffic light would make getting out of the Piggly Wiggly shopping center safer, but property owners have to foot the bill. With major tenant Hobby Lobby moving out — the light may not happen at all.

Plans have stalled for a new stoplight at the intersection of Sycamore and Washington Avenue as some business owners are worried about the cost despite agreeing that the light would add safety and bring in customers. And with retailer Hobby Lobby planning to move from the strip mall, whether or not any plans will continue to move forward remains to be seen. Mount Pleasant planning staff proactively approached the Hobby Lobby and Racine Centre landowners earlier this year about installing a light at that intersection to help their businesses grow and possibly attract new tenants as well. Mocha Lisa Prepares for Opening Day

Sue Brucker and two of her employees started readying their new space Wednesday at Piggly Wiggly on Washington Avenue. Mocha Lisa Express officially opens on April 16 at 7 am.

Mocha Lisa Express officially opens at 7 am on Monday at Piggly Wiggly on Washington Avenue. They'll have all the great favorites like fresh ground and brewed Alterra coffee, mocha, latte, smoothies and baked goods from Wild Flour. Mocha Lisa Express will be open seven days a week afrom 7 am to 12 pm. Stop in and say "hello."
